Beyonce has started off 2009 in the best way possible that by remaining at the top of the U.S. pop charts for a 4th week as the Billboard Hot 100’s number one.

“Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)” has kept away competition from the likes of Lady Gaga’s “Just Dance” to remain the #1 song on the year’s first countdown. As a result of these changes T.I.’s “Live Your Life” which was formerly the chart-topper has slipped to 3rd position. Kanye West’s “Heartless” comes in at #4 while country singer Taylor Swift’s “Love Story” is number five on the list.

Just a few days ago Beyonce and her boyfriend Jay-Z were spending their holidays in Caribbean and seems that the too were very happy and all that is thanks to that her song is #1 Billboard Hot 100’s.

Sometimes things just go for you and even if you sneeze it would be called a best sneeze that people have ever heard from that person. Frankly I am not a fan of her music but she really has some talent or else she wouldn’t be sitting at the top of the charts. Best of luck to Beyonce for 2009.

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon spent their first holiday season as a married couple in Aspen. In a recent interview with Redbook magazine, the diva reveals her thoughts on the holidays. She said ” This year, in addition to everything I love about celebrating the holidays, it’s all going to be heightened because of Nick. Aspen is all about the snow and the environment, so it automatically puts you in that celebratory mood. I don’t really do up my New York apartment for Christmas; I save everything for Aspen.” Mariah also revealed some sexy tidbits saying “Honestly, I always get Santa lingerie. Even if nobody’s going to see it! I mean, why not? But this year I’m definitely excited because it’ll be appreciated!”

Taylor Swift has got a pretty strong hold on the number 1 spot on the US album charts with ‘Fearless’ even the in the face of stiff competition from debuting big names such as Keyshia Cole and Jamie Foxx. The country singer’s album has been out for weeks now but sales aren’t slowing down as she sold 330,000 copies last week. For a while, Britney Spears’ ‘Circus’ took over but Taylor knocked her back on her album’s third week of release. Beyonce wasn’t even close to beating either Britney or Taylor for that matter. Fall Out Boy was also a disappointment as their album ‘Folie a Deux’ debuted at number 8 with 150,000 sold which is a dismal follow up to 2007’s ‘Infinity on High’ which debuted at number 1.

Britney Spears hit the road after casting dancers at a Los Angeles area dance studio last week. The 27-year old recovered pop princess was rumored to fly to India for a two-day practice session with choreographer Sandip Soparrkar. The choreographer said “I’ll be meeting her for work only, when she visits Jodhpur. We’ll just be doing a bit of rehearsals, since I am planning to do the rumba, which is the dance of love. Britney is really looking forward to coming to India. She’s heard a lot about it and what tops her list here is trying out the spicy Indian curry.”

Rihanna is working on a compilation of remixes from her double platinum album ‘Good Girl Gone Bad: Reloaded’. The album is set to drop in stores on January 27th and will contain 12 tracks, 2 tracks are remixes of her very popular hit ‘Umbrella’. Rihanna can probably never do anything wrong. She’s really just milking it while everybody still wants the cow.

As the Janet Jackson pregnancy rumors continue to swirl, Jermaine Dupri is taking the time to deny the reports. I’m sorry for all the caps but I was too lazy to write it like a normal person would. With sales for his latest album being a great disappointment compared to the sales of his previous albums, Kanye West is reportedly getting a little help from music’s current golden child Rihanna. It seems that his so-called great art needs some great help because the duo has re-recorded a version of ‘Paranoid’ off of Kanye’s latest ‘808’s & Heartbreak’. The track is set to drop in January. Desperate times call for Rihanna to come to the rescue. I still hold to saying that Rihanna can do no wrong. Kanye was pretty smart for getting her onboard the project. I just hope he doesn’t take all the credit if the song ends up a hit.

Despite what you may have falsely read some place, Katy Perry is not getting married to her boyfriend Travis McCoy from Gym Class Heroes. The ‘Hot n Cold’ singer recently went to her official blog to clear up the rumors saying “From the horses mouth. NOT engaged! But thanks for the free press New York Daily News! You should fact check with the source before you spread world wide news like that. Merry Christmas!” And there we have it. But who knows? Those rumors may be true in time. Just not right now. It will be great if she and Travis do get engaged and get married though.

Following Britney Spears’ so-called performance on X Factor last month, host Dannii Minogue is now saying that she and her fellow co-hosts and judges behaved like crazy fanatics lining up outside the singer’s dressing room to meet her. Dannii said that she was disappointed that the recovered pop princess didn’t say hello to the show’s final 5 contestants saying that she “thought ‘what a shame because you’ve just crushed those contestants.” Dannii also added “She didn’t have to be like that.” She didn’t have to but she does have the right to do as she pleases… with the consent of her dad of course.

She and her hunky fiance Josh Duhamel have confirmed a January 10th wedding date.

The couple has just finished work on their respective projects, so January 10 is the perfect time to get hitched.

Michael Bolton should probably try writing a mushy adult contemporary soft rock song for ‘Desperate Housewives’ star Nicollette Sheridan to try to win her back if he wants to have a place to stay in for the holiday. The singer was so smitten with the actress that he bought a house in Hidden Hills, California with her for $4.4 million back in May. Two days after the sale, Nicollette threw him out on the driveway and called off the engagement. This was after the Michael had just put his 9000 square Connecticut home up for sale for $11 million. In short, the singer is homeless. I guess it’s time to move back in with mom.
